Combined Energy Solutions was formed as a limited company in
April 2002, however the team has been together providing Technical Facilities
Maintenance since 1991. See below for a flowchart showing the history of the
CES business.
Our Parent Company is Briggs & Forrester who are one of the UK's leading
specialist building services engineering and contracting organisations. They
undertake the design, installation, commissioning and building services
installations encompassing all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical and Public
Health engineering. The turnover for the group is approaching £100 million and
we employ about 500 people.
Combined Energy Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of the
Briggs & Forrester Group, provide the complete range of Technical Facilities
Maintenance services.
Lincoln Green was established in April 1991 as the design and
energy management division of East Midlands Electricity with the maintenance
division being formed in 1992.
Powergen UK plc took over East Midlands Electricity during 1997 and Lincoln
Green was renamed Powergen Energy Solutions, becoming a trading division of
Powergen UK plc in December 1999.
This had little effect on the business with the business philosophy, staff and
service levels remaining unchanged. Work continued until Powergen decided the
Energy Solutions Company was not part of their core business and a phased
closure ensued completing in November 2002
Recognising the high-quality business, which had been built up over 10 years and
the importance of working relationships the staff at Powergen Energy Solutions,
wished to carry on with the business and approached Briggs & Forrester to be
our parent company.
